A Note From The Chef

"Where are you moving?”  Over the last couple of months we've been asked this question hundreds of times?  The answer is simple.  "We don't know.”   What we do know is that we very much want to find a new home for Biscotti in Ridgefield.

It's sometimes hard for me to believe that we have been here for nine years and two months and our lease is almost up. Where did the time go?  It's the same question I ask when I look at my children. When Corwyn and I started Biscotti Teresa was 10 and Mathew 6.  In those early months they would be cuddled up with sleeping bags and pillows on the floor, watching videos in the space where you are now dining, while we ran the restaurant in the area through the archway.   It is now almost impossible to imagine that the cramped space that now holds our kitchen and small retail section was once the whole restaurant, just as its sometimes hard to imagine that my kids are now teenagers.  These were the formative years for both the restaurant and the kids.  I make this parallel because growing a business is similar in many ways to growing a family.  There is no manual—no guarantees. You just do your best and hope that it'll all work out.

Through the years we've had the pleasure to work alongside many, many dedicated staff members who have worked hard to make Biscotti a place where thousands of you have come—time and time again. We've also had the pleasure of serving and meeting so many of you who truly appreciate what we have created; the fresh, flavorful food, the friendly service, the charm and warmth of Biscotti.

Probably the best complement I've ever received is when two diners told me that they just had more than a wonderful meal—they also felt the love in everything around them and it was magical. It is my hope that many of you feel this way for this is true success!

I am a firm believer that thought creates, so we welcome all thoughts that we will soon find the perfect new home.  We are overflowing with ideas and plans to recreate that magic and bring you many new ways and means to partake in the pleasures and comfort that is Biscotti. We look forward to many more years with you.
